Shree Karauli Shankar Mahadev, who is known for providing new perspectives and bold statements on various contemporary issues is once again in limelight for his latest remarks for the Hindu holy scripture, Bhagavad Gita. The remarks came at a recent Poorvaj Mukti session held at the darbar on Thursday on the occasion of Amavasya. While addressing thousands of devotees who had come from different parts of the country, Shree Karauli Shankar Mahadev said that the wisdom and knowledge found in Gita, is meant for the masses and is beneficial for the greater good of mankind.

However, Guruji was quick to point out how story-tellers who pose themselves as spiritual and religious leaders have only preached what the society doesn't require. He said- "These story tellers preach the story of Lord Krishna and only tell how he used to do notorious acts in his childhood, how he used to steal clothes, how he used to eat butter and milk, etc. But, they don't focus on the real personality of Lord Krishna. The personality which is a testament to being a good human being. The personality which teaches us about the realities of the world."

Guruji said that one needs to focus on what the Gita actually preaches, he said it's not merely a book per say but the ultimate guide to live a peaceful and successful life. The Bhagavad Gita gives you the answer to every question that you'll encounter in your lifetime. Lord Krishna who gave this invaluable knowledge to Arjuna in the battlefield, the character, the dedication, hard work, everything has been engraved in it.

Thus, it is high time that people realise what is actually to be derived and learnt from our scriptures. Guruji said that Bhagavad Gita is not a document to be read but it is a guideline, guideline straight from the god that needs to be followed. He also urged other spiritual and religious leaders to preach this message rather than projecting negative traits.
