A news to cheer up all the WhatsApp users as the most popular instant messaging app has brought back its ‘text status’ feature after doing away with it in February and introducing a new ‘Video status’ feature.
WhatsApp decided to roll back the text status feature after it was reported that many of the users did not like the new video feature. The new Snapchat-style feature lets users post photos and videos as their profile status which disappears after 24 hours.
For now, the revamped text status is available to Android users with its latest update (Android v2.17.107). The iPhone users will have to wait for some time to get the update.

With the reemergence of the text status feature, WhatsApp has also decided to keep intact the video status at its position.
Unlike the usual procedure, WhatsApp users using the app on android will have to enable the feature from settings. Under About and phone number tab, users can find the option to put the new text feature.
To enable the feature, users have to update WhatsApp to its latest version. After which they have to click on the three dots on the top right from where they can go to settings and opt to enable the feature.

With 1.2 billion monthly users worldwide, WhatsApp is constantly updating its app to introduce new features for the user in the recent months. Even the new video status feature unveiled in February got mixed reactions from the users globally.
