India will see its second Union Budget in seven months after Narendra Modi government 2.0 stormed into power. Modi government will seek to boost the economy and placate consumers hit by growing inflation. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present a "feel-good" Budget which may include steps like higher spending in social sectors and possible tax cuts on personal income. Sitharaman is expected to announce measures to restore economic growth and to set out a clear road map for achieving the ambitious target of USD 5 trillion economy by 2025.
Budget 2020-21 will be Modi government’s first full-fledged budget after getting re-elected in May 2019. The budget is scheduled to begin at 11 am in the Lok Sabha.
