Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed Union Budget 2019 (Bahi-Khata) presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, saying the budget will help prosper the country and empower every citizen. Congratulating the finance minister, Modi said the budget is a step towards new India and will give power to poor and better future to the youth.
"The middle class will progress with this budget, development work will expedite even more. The tax structure will simplyfy and infrastructure will modernize," the prime minister said.
He said that Union Budget 2019 is a step closer to New India and has a roadmap to transfrom the agriculture sector of the country. The budget have reforms for economic sector, ease of living for common man and welfare for poor.

"Today, there are new aspirations and expectations in the lives of people. This budget is giving confidence to the nation that they are being fulfilled. It makes them believe that the direction is correct, the process is fine, the speed is right, therefore it is certain that it will reach the goal," Modi said.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Friday announced a slew of steps to scale up India's infrastructure including augmenting 1,25,000 km of rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of Rs 80,250 crore and and creating a national highways grid.
Tabling the Modi 2.0 government's maiden budget in Parliament, Sitharaman said that steps were taken to boost infrastructure in sectors like roads, waterways, metro and rail. She also emphasised on the measures for a self-reliant aviation industry.
