The reports claimed that the number of people to be impacted would be in hundreds, although the spokesperson didn’t reveal much about it.
“We do this every year and the numbers could vary every performance cycle,” the spokesperson said, adding that the assessment is based on individual goals and strategic priorities of the company.
Earlier, Cognizant, the US-based company had rolled out a voluntary separation programme for directors, associate VPs and senior VPs, offering them 6-9 months of salary.
Talking about Wipro, it is learnt that it has also asked about 600 employees to leave as part of of its annual “performance appraisal”. However, there are speculations that the number could go up to 2,000.
