Finance Minister Arun Jaitley participated in Halwa ceremony on Thursday to initiate the beginning of printing of documents related to Union Budget 2017-18.
The ‘halwa ceremony’ is the ritual which has been followed in Finance Ministry for a long time. Halwa is prepared in a big ‘Kadhai’ and after preparation it is being served to the entire employees in the ministry.
The halwa is that is being prepared marks the beginning of printing process of Union Budget. It holds significance as the Finance Ministry’s employees who are involved in budget printing process will remain cut-off from their families till the time Budget is presented.
