1. Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal set for upcoming mega sales war
A pitched battle among the country's largest online retailers is on the cards when Flipkart, Amazon India and Snapdeal roll out their flagship annual sales in the first week of October and bid for larger shares of consumer spend in the festive season.
On Thursday, Amazon India announced that it would run its sale season from October 1 to 5, giving itself a head start as the two Indian companies launch their sales from October 2 to 6. All three companies will look to garner a significant portion.

2. Microsoft launches 'Nokia 216 Dual SIM' phone, pricing shall lure entry level customers
The 'Nokia 216 Dual SIM' was launched by US tech giant Microsoft on Friday morning. The phone has been modestly priced at Rs 2,495.
'Nokia 216' could attract the entry level segment customers who are not very tech-savvy about their gadgets buys. The high end smartphone users could also use the device as a backup when their smartphone's battery die down.

3. Indian stock markets fall, midcap and smallcap outperform
The BSE Sensex ended with a loss of 105 points at 28,668. The BSE Sensex opened at 28,810 and peaked at an intra-day high of 28,825 and low of 28,627. The NSE Nifty closed with a loss of 36 points at 8,832. The NSE Nifty opened at 8,881 hitting a high of 8,885 and low of 8,820.
Sensex fell over 100 points and Nifty closed below its crucial level of 8,850 due to selling pressure in banking, power and FMCG shares.
