Apple launches special all red-editions of i-Phone 7 and i-Phone 7 Plus in India from April, cuts prices on lower end i-Pads

US-based tech major Apple will begin selling its special 'RED' edition of i-Phone 7 and i-Phone 7 Plus in India from April. The new edition of iPhone symbolises the fight against AIDS. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be provided in vibrant red aluminium finish, in recognition of more than 10 years of partnership between Apple and (RED).

The latest Apple iPhone models gets a svelte red aluminum finish to mimic the HIV/AIDS red ribbon representing continued solidarity for the cause. In collaboration with (RED), Apple has contributed over $130 million to the Global Fund in an effort to spread awareness and preventative measures against HIV/AIDS around the world.

Moreover, the phones will be available in 128 GB and 256 GB models starting at price of Rs 82,000 from Apple Authorised Resellers. Apple has also said that for every iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sold, an unspecified amount will be donated to HIV and AIDS programs. Further, Apple has also decided to double the storage on the smaller iPhone SE while keeping the USD 399 starting price.

While both the special edition models will be available all over the world from from March 24, and start shipping to customers by the end of March in the US and more than 40 countries and regions, shipments to "Brazil, Chile, Colombia, India, Turkey and other countries will follow in April.

Apple is the world's largest corporate donor to the Global Fund, contributing more than USD 130 million as part of its partnership with (RED).(RED) provides access to life-saving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa, where nearly two thirds of the world's HIV-positive population resides.

Apple also replaced its i-Pad Air 2 by a new model known as an i-Pad. It constitutes a 9.7-inch screen, with a brighter display and faster processor. Further, its price begins at USD 329 for 32 gigabytes of storage, down from USD 399.

The smaller, 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4 now comes with 128 gigabytes of storage begining from USD 399, down from USD 499. The new iPad Mini 4 is available right away, while the standard-size iPad comes out next week, with orders to begin Friday.
