Tech giant Apple is all set to open its first center in India. The center, which will be opened in the city of Hyderabad, will be Apple’s first center outside United States.
Many see this as a move associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India success. However, others say that this is a mere result of Apple increased user base in India. The US based company is all set to bring more jobs which will give an economical push to country’s tech sector.
"We've been investing to expand our operations in India and are thrilled to have passionate customers and a vibrant developer community across the country. We are looking forward to opening a new development office in Hyderabad that will be home to over 150 Apple employees supporting maps development. The office will also have space for many contractors who will support our ambitious efforts locally." A leading news portal quoted Apple as ‘confirming’ the news.
The company is also set to bring its own-branded stores to come to India. The confirmation for this recently came from none other than the company's CEO Tim Cook.
At a recent town hall with Apple executives, Cook reportedly said that Apple is in early preparations to bring its retail stores to the country.
