FBIL sets rupee reference rate at 72.6781 against dollar

The Financial Benchmarks india private limited (FBIL) on Wednesday fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 72.6781 against the US dollar and 84.9050 for the euro.

The corresponding rates were 72.3796 and 84.7657, on Tuesday.

According to an FBIL statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were 95.5925 and 64.69 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
