New Delhi :
Now you can track the sleeping habits of your friends. Søren Louv-Jansen, a Denmark software developer, has created a new way to track sleeping patterns of your friends on Facebook. This tool is based on the activity timestamps that Facebook stores on users of its site and Messenger app.
Though in Facebook’s Messenger app one can easily see when user was last active. Just by using a source code, Louv-Jansen explained how he can track the active time of a friend on Facebook. Using the software to check Facebook's database on user activity every ten minutes, he created graphics depicting his friends' sleep patterns, and discovered some broad trends, as well.
Though this can be praised, people might be fascinated about how one software can track your sleeping patterns so accurately but Facebook doesn’t seem to be quite happy about it.
According to Louv-Jansen said the company asked him to discourage others from using his software, saying that it violates the site's terms of service.
But Louv-Jansen cleared the air on his intentions to a leading daily that he has no intentions to spy on his friends, “I want people to be aware that they’re leaving some digital footsteps everywhere they go,” he said.
