Mobile handset giant OnePlus, which is popular for launching high end specification sets at scantly low prices, will soon make an entry into virtual reality. The company has said that launch event will be ‘beamed from the future’, with the OnePlus offices relocated to an orbital space station.
Though there is no announcement detailing the specifications, there are endless rumours and leaks around the OnePlus 3.
Design and Display
As per reports, a slimmer design with metal frames could be expected. On the display front, the phone will sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is also rumoured that the company could unveil a 5-inch variant too.
Processor and Storage
Previous benchmark listings have hinted at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. The device will most likely pack in Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone will be available in either 32GB or 64GB storage variants. The company could surprise us by introducing a 128GB storage variant too.
Operating System
The previous OnePlus 2 was launched with Android Lollipop with the company’s OxygenOS on top. A report suggests that the company will most likely offer a new Android Marshmallow version based on the company UI.
Reports say that the device will be equipped for a 16MP rear camera along with an 8MP front facing camera. An OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and 4K video recording is also expected.
Battery
OnePlus 3 is expected to have a strong 3000mAh or a 3500mAh battery capacity.
Pricing and availability
The OnePlus 3 will range from a price tag of Rs. 20,500 to Rs. 25,000. The 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant is most likely to be priced around Rs 20,500, while the higher variant 6GB RAM, 64GB storage will be priced at approximately Rs 25,000.
