Price war: BSNL introduces plan to tackle Jio, offers 10 GB data at Rs 249- file photo

To tackle stiff competition in the current telecom scenario with lucrative offers from Reliance Jio, state-run telecom operator BSNL has announced a new plan that offers 10GB of data per day at the price of Rs 249.

Apart from this, users will also get unlimited calling from 9 PM to 7 AM in the morning. The speed at which this internet plan will work is 2 mbps.

This step is surely seen as a measure to counter the ongoing data price war going on in the market right now. Recently Jio gave a reason to cheer to its users after extending its deadline to renew the Prime membership for 15 days to April 15 with 'Jio Summer Surprise Plan'

Under the Jio Prime membership users can continue to use free data and voice calls after an annual membership of Rs 99 and further recharging with attractive monthly plans starting from Rs 149.

Looking at the bid to compete each other in terms of data plan, BSNL is surely providing a lucrative catch, but it surely lacks in term of speed. While Jio’s data come with 4G speed, BSNL is proving the broadband data with 2mbps of speed.

Earlier, BSNL had announced to offer 1 GB of free data to all smartphone users who have a BSNL connection but are not using the company's data services.
