Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued Rs 100 currency with some new features and now it is being circulated in the economy. However, the circulation of these new currency will get slowly spread into the economy. With the issuance of this currency note, Modi govt has replaced all the old currency with a new one in terms of design and features.

The design of new Rs 100 currency note is quite similar to the old one. The size of this currency note is 66mm x 142 mm and has signature of RBI governor Urjit Patel.

Meanwhile, RBI has made it clear that the old currency will still be a valid legal tender even after introduction of new currency in the economy.

Important features of new Rs 100 currency note:

One can see ‘RBI’, ‘Bharat’ water mark in light.

The new Rs 100 currency note is purple in colour with a dimension of 66 mm × 142 mm.

There is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan logo at the back along with the slogan

On the front, it has Mahatma Gandhi’s picture

On its rear, it has picture of ancint Rani Ka Bav
