In a bid to provide tech enthusiasts an opportunity to not only learn about new technology available but also to experience state-of-the-art products from some of the most renowned Taiwanese brands, Taiwan Excellence has flagged off a mobile showroom named TE Rig.
TE Rig, the massive mobile showroom, will cruise to different parts of India giving people the chance to lay their hands on some path-breaking technology. The TE Rig was flagged off on Thursday from the national capital and it will travel for 90 days covering 61 cities in 12 states.
Through all these initiatives, Taiwan has already managed to reach several major Metros and cities of India. Now, to give a further boost to relations, Taiwan is aiming to reach to people in smaller cities and towns of India and showcase cutting-edge advanced technology and innovation. The Rig comes as an extension of this endeavour to reach out to even tier II and tier III cities of India.
It will promote and showcase products from some of the most renowned Taiwanese brands which are trusted names for cutting-edge technology products in ICT, gaming, home and living categories. Leading brands like Acer, ADATA, AIFA, ASUS, AVerMedia, Avision, D-Link, FECA, Gigabyte, MSI, Thermaltake, Tokuyo, U.Cr+, Zowie and Zyxel will be showcasing their products on the Rig.
Taiwan Excellence is an initiative by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA)
“The relations between India and Taiwan have seen an upward growth in the past few years. Such initiatives like TEGC and TE Rig have contributed majorly in this. There are so many gaming aficionados and tech enthusiasts in India. Taiwan Excellence has brought to them some great technology and gaming products and they have responded in a terrific manner to all its ventures,” Chung-Kwang Tien, Taiwan India Ambassador said.
TE Rig comes ahead of Taiwan Excellence’s annual gaming event Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC). With the 6th edition coming up, TEGC is one of the longest-running e-sports championships in India. It will offer an assorted collection of games i.e. CS:GO, DOTA2 and PUBG. This year TEGC will kickstart in June with elimination rounds in six cities i.e. Hyderabad, Bangalore, Silchar, Kolkata, Pune and Mumbai, followed by online eliminations for CS:GO, DOTA2 and PUBG. The winners of the elimination rounds will convene in Mumbai on 27th and 28th September 2019 to battle it out for the most coveted cup and a cumulative cash prize of RS. 10 lakhs.
“In the past two years, we have reached 14 lakh people across India. People have shown such an overwhelming response that it encouraged us to bring out the much bigger third edition of the TE Rig. This year, there are many more tech products – each one of them bearing the hallmark of Taiwan Excellence,” said Herben Wu, Director of Taipei World Trade Center Liaison Office in New Delhi.
