Twitter has begun discussions with various technology giants including Google and Salesforce and exploring to sell itself, a source has said, CNBC reported on Friday. The micro blogging website is reportedly mulling this option following its slow growth. Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) went public in 2013.
With other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat adopting ways to generate profits and expanding themselves, the sale negotiations will reveal Twitter’s worth both as a data and multimedia company.
Citing anonymous sources, CNBC reported on Friday that Twitter is holding talks with several companies and is likely to receive a formal bid soon.
