The Government of India launched the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app with a motive of promoting e-governance. UMANG app was developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to drive Mobile Governance in India, according to the information available on the UMANG’s official website. The app can be used for a variety of things ranging from applying for a passport to checking the list of recognised engineering colleges across the country.

Here are some of the important things that can be done using the UMANG app.
Aadhaar card: Apply, Track Status
It can be used to apply for the Aadhaar card and to change the address on the card and more. By using the UMANG app, Aadhaar card can be viewed and downloaded from the DigiLocker account. Moreover, the digital format of Aadhaar card is accepted as verification document.
Ayushman Bharat: Get Information
UMANG app helps in getting information about India’s National Health Protection Scheme. This scheme seeks to provide affordable health care services to the poor and marginalised.
Passport Seva: Get An Appointment
By using this app, one can apply for getting a passport. This app helps in getting appointment, check application status.
Report Cybercrime
This portal can be used to report a cybercrime complaint and track it.
MADAD- Get Help Abroad
MADAD is ministry of external affairs' initiative to help Indian diaspora in distress abroad. UMANG app helps in registering grievances related to consular services offered by Indian Embassies in other countries.
Khoya Paya: Lodge The Missing Report Your Child
One can use this app to report and search a missing child. Khoya Paya is an initiative of ministry of women and child development.
Bharat Billpay- Pay Your Bills Online
This app can be used to pay utility bills online. UMANG app can be used to pay electricity bills, water bills and more.
Digilocker: Keep Your Documents Safe
DigitLocker, which is a cloud-based platform, helps in storing documents in digital format. UMANG app helps in logging in to DigiLocker account.
Income Tax: Pay Your Income-Tax
This service allows users to fill Challan 280 . One can also track the challan status using this app.
PAN: Apply For PAN Card
There’s 'My PAN' service in the UMANG app. It helps users to get new PAN card.

ESIC: Track Application
UMANG app can be used to log in ESIC or the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation account.
EPFO: Track Provident Fund Services
By using UMANG app, one can track PF services. Users can also use this app to view passbook, raise claim, know claim status.
Check The List Of Recognised Engineering Colleges
You can have the access of list of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved colleges by using this app.
National Consumer Help
UMANG app helps in filing complaints regarding consumer issues. It can also be used to track the complaint status.
