Instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out its much-awaited video calling feature for users using the latest version of the app. An official update has been issued for Android, iPhone, and Windows smartphone users.

Earlier, the popular service was introduced on the beta version of the app and with the full-fledged version for all users is also available, users can easily use the popular feature of video calling on the most popular messaging app.

The video calling option is can be used by pressing the call button, where the user now gets two options: Voice call with the addition of Video call.

Users can also activate the video calls by going to Google Play Store and downloading the latest version of WhatsApp. iPhone users can also download the latest update from the App store.

The only condition to enable the popular service is that users at both sides making the call should have the latest version of Whatsapp.

Speculations were doing rounds from a long time about Whatsapp introducing video calling feature in addition to the audio calling feature. Recently the messaging service has also rolled out an addition feature of GIF support in the messages and formatting the text as bold and italic. 

The company is also working on a feature which can enable sending full resolution images in addition to the two-factor authentication for bettering the security.

WhatsApp's mother entity Facebook launched video chat capabilities to its Messenger app about a year ago.
