New Delhi:

International 'Human Rights Day' will be observed all over the world on December 10. Human trafficking is one of the serious concerns that needs to be addressed at the global level.

In a democratic country like India, human rights are highly important as they aim to preserve the dignity and liberty of the people. Our constitution guarantees six fundamental rights for the citizens so that they are treated with equality irrespective of colour, caste, religion, race or creed.

The Rohingya violence in Myanmar was enough for the world to notice how basic human rights were violated.  The very same country at one time was known for its peace and harmony

As the world celebrates Human Rights Day, United Nations has the responsibility to ensure that rights of the people are violated and they are provided a peaceful life.

News Nation has collaborated with UC News India to create awareness among people on human rights. We caught up with television actress Kasturi Banerjee who is currently seen on the show Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya.

The actress stressed on that the fact that awareness is lacking in India and something must be done to help people recognise their fundamental rights. Kasturi also said that people in the rural areas need to be made aware of what human rights are so that they live a life with dignity.
