Chennai:
As many as 300 students have got job offers at IIT Madras placement, which resumed after a gap of more than a month.
139 students got job offers on Wednesday, while another 81 were placed until Thursday afternoon.
The first phase kicked off on December 1 but it was pushed to January because of the floods in Chennai as it disrupted the sessions. 117 students were placed on December 1.
"There is an increase in the offers from core companies as well as research& development firms. We are delighted to have Coal India and expect offers from them to touch at least 20 by the end of the afternoon session on Thursday. A good number is also expected from TVS Motors," said Prof. V Babu, advisor, training & placements, IIT Madras.
"The response is highly encouraging for the students who were looking forward to the placements after we had to postpone them due to the floods last month," he said.
