IAS aspirants attention please! UPSC notification for one of the most coveted jobs (IAS) 2016 prelims exam is to be released today. All those who are interested in the job may now register for the exam through online by visiting official website of UPSC www.upsconline.nic.in.
The application for the exams can be submitted till May 20 and the prelims exam for the same will be held on August 7.
Candidates other than reserved category will have to pay the application fees of 100 Rs/- for this examination. You can pay the application fee through challan of State Bank of India or by internet banking/debit card/credit card of SBI bank.
Attempts and selection process
You can make six attempts to crack the exam. However, candidates belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes category are barred from this.
There are preliminary exam, main exam and a personality test or interview. Candidates will be eligible for the posts only after clearing these three rounds.
A candidate should be citizen of India, this also applies to candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and immigrants with Indian origin will have to submit a certificate of eligibility that has been issued by the Government of India. Candidates are required to hold a degree from any of Indian universities or an equivalent qualification from any recognised university.
