Ahmedabad Commissioner of Police, Ashish Bhatia on Sunday said some people have been detained after combing operations were launched ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to the city. “We did some combing last night, some people have been detained. But I will not be able to disclose the number of detainees now”, said Bhatia. He said Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been requested for the anti-drone system and the public at large is directed not to use drones for any purpose.
Bhatia, who was briefing media on Donald Trump’s visit, said traffic diversions and arrangements have been increased in Sabarmati Ashram area after it was added to the president's visit plan.

“US President Donald Trump will arrive at 11: 30 am. This will be followed by cultural events at the Airport. Road show will begin at 12 pm. On the way to Motera Stadium, the US President will stop at Sabarmati Ashram”, added the Ahmedabad police Commissioner.
Giving details about the security arrangement in the city, Ashish Bhatia said, “33 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 75 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 300 Police Inspectors,1000 Sub-Inspectors, 12000 jawans, and 2000 women police personnel have been deployed across the city.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India looks forward to welcoming the US President. “India looks forward to welcoming @POTUS @realDonaldTrump. It is an honour that he will be with us tomorrow, starting with the historic programme in Ahmedabad (sic),” Modi wrote on Twitter.
Trump is set to be accorded the biggest public reception given to any foreign leader in years in India. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather in Modi's political hometown of Ahmedabad to greet Trump for a road show leading to a rally in a cricket stadium with a capacity of over 100,000.
