Three persons were killed after a five-storey under-construction building collapsed near Bellandur south east Bengaluru, about 11.7km from the Central Business District (CBD) on Wednesday, reports said. Some construction workers are feared trapped under the debris. Firemen were rushed to the spot and the rescue operation was on, said reports.
"We've have managed to rescue one person while four others had managepd to escape," fire and emergency department chief MN Reddi said.
"We are clearing the debris and will know the exact situation soon," a senior officer from the fire department said.
"The situation is not as bad because it was an under-construction building. Also, it happened at a time when most people are not on the streets. It would have been different had it happened in the evening," a source in the fire department said.
