Former Karnataka BJP Minister joins Congress citing internal bickering and discrimination

The elections for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly will be held tentatively in May for 224 constituencies.

Anand Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Vijayanagar Assembly Constituency of Bellary District had tendered his resignation from his post on Saturday, joined the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief G Parmeshwar at KPCC office in Bengaluru.

Anand Singh had contested elections twice from Vijayanagar Assembly constituency of Bellary District on BJP ticket and won both the times. He was also the Tourism Minister of Karnataka during the BJP government in the state.

Singh had met Speaker KB Koliwad at the Inspection Bungalow at Ranebennur in Haveri district and submitted the resignation letter.

Singh said he had resigned since he was fed up with the internal bickering in the BJP and the step-motherly attitude of the party leaders.
