As elections are near in Karnataka, political parties are getting ready in the state with their strategies. But in-between noted Human Rights activist and businesswoman from Hyderabad Dr Nowhera Shaik launched her newly formed political party "All India Mahila Empowerment Party (AIMEP)" in Bengaluru.
Central Election Commission has recognised AIMEP as a national political party and allotted "Diamond" as an election symbol. Nowhera says her party aims at empowering Indian women irrespective of caste, creed, religious affiliations, and domicile region.
Karnataka is going to Assembly Elections in April 2018 and Nowhera is going to start her political journey with these elections.
Nowhera said, "My party will contest in the next Karnataka Assembly Elections scheduled to be held in April 2018. My party will contest all the 224 seats in the state."
Nowhera had participated in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad last month in which Ivanka Trump was the main speaker. Nowhera says she was impressed with the way Ivanka Trump spoke about women empowerment and how she works for this.
How much support Nowhera Shaik's All India Mahila Empowerment Party gets in Karnataka remains to be seen and will decide the future of the party.
