A 24-year-old girl has jumped from the seventh floor flat in Virugambakkam in Chennai on Monday. Niveditha is a single child pursuing master's degree in computer application has sustained severe injuries after she fallen from the building.

Taking a stern action on the suicide game, the court also asked the MDs of Facebook India, Google India and Yahoo India to respond in the matter. The infamous online game has led to the suicide of a number of children in India and abroad. 

Investigating officers are looking into a possible connection between the attempted suicide and deadly "Blue Whale Challenge". She is an only child who lives with her parents in a posh apartment comp-lex on Arunachalam Road in Virugambakkam.

"Witnesses said Niveditha leaped off a balcony from her 7th-floor apartment," the officer said. "She appears to have acted deliberately, opening a grille door to get to the balcony".

"A few neighbors and a security guard at the apartment complex heard a loud sound and found Niveditha bleeding profusely on the roof of a car," he said. "The woman's parents and neighbors took her to a private hospital nearby."

"Niveditha's parents said they knew nothing about her playing the 'Blue Whale' game online but we are checking call data from her cell phone to see for ourselves," the officer said, adding that they were waiting for her to regain consciousness so they could speak to her.

 "We are also looking at the possibility that other causes prompted the suicide," he said.
