Tamil Nadu: Police seize country made gun from farmer in Kadambur forest region

The seizure was made during a raid conducted by police in Ozapalayam village in Wednesday following information that some persons were possessing unlicensed guns for hunting, they said.

A country-made gun was seized and a farmer arrested for allegedly possessing it in a village in Kadambur forest region in the district, police said on Thursday.   

The seizure was made during a raid conducted by police in Ozapalayam village in Wednesday following information that some persons were possessing unlicensed guns for hunting, they said.   

Police found the country-made gun in the house of Annamalai and arrested him.   

The 47-year old farmer allegedly told the police that the gun was meant for hunting animals like deer and rabbits.   

Police said they have registered a case under the Explosives Act against the farmer.
