A drone-like unidentified flying object spotted at the INS Adyar naval station near the Napier Bridge in Chennai at 9.15 am on Monday triggered a security alert. The police said that the naval sentries spotted the red flying object but it was flying too low to register on their radar while CCTV cameras in the area were placed too low to capture an object in the sky.

The Fort Police registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspicious object are trying to identify any vehicle parked within 200-1000 m of the bridge. 

The lead patrolman Anil Kumar, 25, attached to the naval base lodged a police complaint after informing his higher-ups. The Fort police inspector Muniasamy received the complaint, registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspicious object, as reported by ToI.

February 28, a balloon-like drone whizzing around in the skies of Rajasthan's Bikaner added to the fuelling tension along the border. The suspected red-coloured airborne device was seen at the border areas near Santosh Nagar village in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. After hovering around for some 10 minutes, the mysterious drone went back to the international border of India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the villagers who suspected that the object might have come from the border, have informed the security agencies and police about the movement. Moreover, the 'War Museum' situated in the military station of the Jaisalmer headquarters has also been closed following the high alert issued at Indo-Pak international border.
