Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun after he complained of high blood pressure and pain in the neck.

Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat was hospitalised on Tuesday after his blood pressure shot up and he complained of pain in the neck with doctors attending him advising him rest.

The 69-year-old CM was rushed to the Doon Medical College and Hospital for check-up. 

However, the chief minister was discharged and brought back to his residence at Bijapur Guest House after being advised rest by the doctors.

Rawat was at the hospital for nearly an hour. The chief minister had sustained a neck injury in a flight to Delhi in June 2014.
