Mimicking a protest by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet colleagues at Lt Governor Anil Baijal’s office, BJP leaders and sacked AAP MLA Kapil Mishra on Wednesday sat on a dharna outside the CM office against the government's “non-performance”.

BJP lawmakers Vijender Gupta and Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that their protest would continue till their demands were met by the AAP government.

“Until the chief minister assures to provide water to the people, we will continue our sit in,” Gupta, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, said, adding that their protest was against the “non-performance” of the Kejriwal government.

Gupta said that before the protest, they tried to raise the issue of water shortage in the Assembly as well but they were thrown out by the marshals.

“We have called on people to reach the CM office to raise the problem of water supply,” Gupta added.

The protest by BJP leaders came amid the sit-in dharna by Kejriwal and his colleagues at the office of Delhi L-G Anil Baijal.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia joined Health Minister Satyendar Jain on the third day of his indefinite hunger strike at Baijal’s office, where they have been camping for two nights.

The AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, are demanding that Baijal direct IAS officers to end their “strike”. They also want him to approve the proposal for door-step delivery of rations.
