Activists of the Left-backed AISA and the RSS-affiliated ABVP on Tuesday allegedly clashed in Delhi University. Counselling sessions on admissions were taking place at the time of clash.

An official at the Maurice Nagar police station said no FIR was registered, though both the groups filed cross complaints. “It was an argument between them,” he said.

Sujit Chandra Banshi, a member of AISA said that the clash took place when they were distributing pamphlets.

“When I along with two others of AISA were distributing pamphlets about the varsity’s admissions procedures, ABVP activists manhandled me and threatened to kill us,” Banshi said.

However, Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) President and ABVP member Amit Tanwar said, “Three AISA activists teased a girl on the campus. We caught hold of one and warned him while others escaped.”
