Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia were on Monday named as accused in the alleged assault case of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February. Besides Kejriwal and Sisodia, 11 other MLAs had also been named in the chargesheet filed by Delhi Police on Monday.

Amanatullah Khan, Prakash Jarwal, Nitin Tyagi, Rituraj Govind, Sanjeev Jha, Ajay Dutt, Rajesh Rishi, Rajesh Gupta, Madan Lal, Parveen Kumar and Dinesh Mohania were the other AAP MLAs named as accused in the chargesheet.

On Monday, the Delhi Police submitted a 1300 page chargesheet in the Patiala House Court.

The final report was filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal, who has kept the matter for consideration on August 25.

Prakash had alleged that he was attacked by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal at the chief minister’s residence in Delhi on the intervening night of February 19 and 20, where he was called for a meeting.

Khan and Jarwal, were arrested but later released on bail.  The Delhi Police had on May 18 questioned Kejriwal for over three hours in connection with the alleged assault.

The alleged assault on the chief secretary had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats.
