At least six people died and several others injured after a part of a factory building collapsed in West Delhi's Moti Nagar on Thursday. According to reports, so far 15 people have been rescued and sent to hospital and rescue operation are still underway. The part of the factory building, located in Sudarshan Park of Moti Nagar, reportedly collapsed after a LPG blast took place at the fan making unit.
"The incident took place in West Delhi's Sudarshan Park area after an LPG cylinder blast. Six people have died while eight were rescued and sent to the hospital. The building comprises ground and the first floors," said Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).
The fire department received a call about the collapse at around 8:45 pm. As many as eight fire tenders along with ambulances have been rushed to spot to control the blaze that was caused because of the explosion.
Search operation is underway and NDRF has also deployed rescue dogs at the location. Further details are awaited.Â
