As Delhi gears itself up for the real test of the second phase for odd-even scheme, BJP MP Vijay Goel was fined Rs. 2000 for violating the odd-even rule. Goel has been opposing the govt expenditure on ads because of the scheme.

BJP MP Vijay Goel fined Rs. 2000 for violating odd-even scheme

As Delhi gears itself up for the real test of the second phase for odd-even scheme, BJP MP Vijay Goel was fined Rs. 2000 for violating the odd-even rule. Goel has been opposing the govt expenditure on ads because of the scheme. Today Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai offered rose to Delhi BJP leader Vijay Goel as he had threatened to violate.

To the relief of Delhi government, a strike called by auto and taxi unions in the city earlier was also withdrawn after an assurance by the government of looking into the demands of protesters.

To ensure smooth functioning of the odd-even scheme and traffic in the city, the government has set a fine of Rs 2,000 for violators. 2,000 traffic personnel, 580 enforcement officials and over 5,000 civil defence volunteers have also been deployed to implement the scheme.
