In a sensational case, 11 members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a house in north Delhi's Burari on Sunday morning. While 10 of the bodies were found hanging from a ceiling with their eyes and mouths covered, an elderly lady was lying on the floor.

According to the police, seven of them were women while four were males, including three minors. Police suspected that they committed suicide. However, Delhi Joint Commissioner of Police, Rajesh Khurana, said that they were investigating all angles including murder.

"Bodies of 7 women and 4 men including three teenagers have been found. We are investigating from all possible angles, we are not ruling out anything," ANI quoted the Joint CP as saying.

A team of Delhi police was at the spot and investigating the case. The bodies were taken to the nearby Guru Govind Singh Hospital for post-mortem.

The Bhatia family reportedly ran a grocery shop and furniture business. Neighbours said that everything was fine in the family till Saturday evening.

Their grocery shop on the ground floor of their double-storey home would open by 6 am in the morning. However, when they didn't open till 7:30, one of the neighbour went upstairs to check on the family. On entering the house, he was shocked to find them hanging from the iron ceiling.

He then rushed downstairs and called the police. Soon a team of Delhi police arrived at the spot and cordoned off the area. The police was investigating the case and questioning neighbours and relatives of the family.
