New Delhi:

The Delhi Police on Friday questioned Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his office in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February.

The six-member police team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Harendra Singh arrived to question the chief minister at his camp office and is recording the proceedings as demanded by Kejriwal, official sources said.  While some members of the team arrived at the chief minister's office around 4.40 pm to set up the recording equipment, Singh arrived at 5 pm.

Three-four advocates have also descended at Kejriwal's residence.

On February 19, Prakash was allegedly assaulted during a meeting at Kejriwal's official residence in his presence.  Following the incident, the Delhi Police issued a notice on May 16, and Kejriwal agreed to join the probe.

The chief minister, however, demanded he be allowed to video record the proceedings. The police declined the demand and said the proceedings will be video recorded by the Delhi Police itself.

His deputy Manish Sisodia is also likely to be summoned in the case as he was also present during the alleged incident.

At least 11 AAP MLAs present at the chief minister's residence for the meeting have been so far questioned by the police.

Two party MLAs -- Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal --were arrested in the case. Kejriwal’s former advisor V K Jain was also questioned in the case.

On February 23, a police team had examined the CCTV system installed at the chief minister's residence in the Civil Lines area and seized the hard disk. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited. The alleged assault on the chief secretary had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats.
