All cinema halls in the national capital will remain shut till March 31 amid coronavirus outbreak which has claimed several lives across the world. Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that all schools and colleges where exams are not being held will also remain closed during this period.  The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government also declared the coronavirus an epidemic.

As a precautionary measure, the government has made disinfecting all public places - including government, private offices and shopping malls – compulsory. The officials have decided to use vacant flats owned by Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board to be used for quarantine.

Meanwhile, Health officials have announced the first confirmed coronavirus case in Andhra Pradesh. According to reports, a Nellore-based techie has been tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 virus after he returned from Italy on March 6. The patient is stated to be stable and all his vitals are normal. "He developed a dry cough and was admitted in Government General Hospital, Nellore in isolation ward has tested confirmed positive for COVID 19 in SVIMS, Tirupathi virology lab," the health official said.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Rohit Kumar Singh said on Wednesday that the woman’s husband, who was the first patient to be tested positive for coronavirus, has also shown low viral load. "The Italian woman have tested negative for the virus two times in the past 24 hours," Singh added.

The officer said that 344 tests have been conducted so far in the state and only three of them (Italian couple and the Jaipur-based man) were tested positive. Nine samples are under process as of now, he added.
