A Delhi-based singer and performer Shivani Bhatia passed away in a tragic car accident on Yamuna Expressway, according to a Times of India report. The 24-year-old popular singer was accompanied by her husband Nikhil Bhatia, when they met with an accident on the Yamuna Expressway on Tuesday. Nikhil is said to be critical. Shivani was runner up in a Bhojpuri singing competition in 2016.
According to the report, Shivani Bhatia and her husband Nikhil Bhatia met with the accident on Monday morning at around 5:45 am near milestone 88 of Surir police jurisdiction, Mathura district. Shivani succumbed to her injuries at Niyati hospital in Mathura at 4.30 am on Tuesday. Sub-inspector Shiv Veer Singh, toll address in-charge of Yamuna expressway said, "The accident occurred after Nikhil attempted to overtake a high-speed car and lost control on his vehicle. The car was completely damaged from the side where Shivani was sitting. The couple were rushed to private hospital, but the Noida based singer took her last breath on Tuesday early morning.”
Shivani Bhatia was known for singing remix songs like Dil Ko Tumse Pyar Hua, Shagan and Neele Neele Ambar Par.
Shivani belonged to Sitamarhi in Bihar. However, due to professional commitments, she was based in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar for the past several years. She was a popular stage performer in Delhi-NCR. The family didn't conduct a post-mortem examination of Shivani's body.
