The Delhi Police detained a man after a live bullet was found on him during his visit to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Janta Darbar on Sunday. He was among the Muslim clerics who had gone to meet the chief minister with a request to increase the salary by Waqf Board.

The man was intercepted at the entrance of the chief minister's residence after the security staff recovered the live cartridge from his wallet. He was arrested under the Arms Act.

Identified as Imran, the 39-year-old caretaker of the mosque, told the police that he found the bullets in the donation of a mosque and had kept it in his wallet and later forgot about it. The police are investigating the matter.

This comes barely a week after another man flung chilli powder at Kejriwal outside his office in the Secretariat on November 20. The accused, 40-year-old Anil Sharma, was immediately taken into custody.

Sources said Sharma managed to gain entry in the Delhi Secretariat after being issued a pass to go to PGMS unit of the government. The attacker had gone to the Secretariat allegedly seeking help for an ailing relative, they said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders alleged that the man threw red chilli powder at the chief minister, a claim denied by the Delhi Police. Sharma had reached the reception of the Delhi Secretariat where he was issued a pass after a call was received from the PGMS, sources said.

A purported CCTV footage of the incident showed Kejriwal accompanied by his staff outside his office on the third floor of the Delhi Secretariat. The accused could be seen approaching him without any check and handing him over some papers that Kejriwal gave to his staff.

The accused could be seen in the video bending down to touch Kejriwal's feet and suddenly lunging at him with his hand brushing past the chief minister's face.
