A decomposed body of a 40-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in the forest area of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday.

At around 5.45 pm, JNU's security staff informed the Police after one of the gaurds detected foul smell coming from the forest area.

Soon after getting the information, a team of Delhi police reached the spot and found a decomposed body of a man handing from a tree.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem.

The man was identified as Ram Pravesh, a resident of Delhi’s Nazafgarh. He was a driver by profession.

Though, prima facie, it looks like Ram Pravesh has commited suicide, but police is investigating other angles as well.

According to a police official, the body appeared to be a couple of days old, however, he said the details will be confirmed only after the autopsy.
