Delhi: Four Assailants Fire At Police Team Near Akshardham, No Injuries Reported

At around 10.45 am on Sunday morning, a team of Mandawali police station laid a trap following certain inputs about the presence of a gang who would dupe people of belongings near Akshardham Metro station Foot over bridge.

Delhi: Four Assailants Fire At Police Team Near Akshardham, No Injuries Reported

An encounter broke out between Delhi Police and some unidentified assailants near Akshardham Temple in the national capital on Sunday morning. A group of four criminals, who were travelling in a white four-wheeler, resorted to firing after a police team asked them to stop for checking near the Akshardham Foot over bridge. However, no injury has been reported on either side in the incident so far.

"Delhi: Four unidentified assailants, in a four-wheeler, fired at police team near Akshardham temple earlier this morning. The police team had asked them to stop their vehicle when they resorted to firing and later managed to escape. No injuries reported," the news agency ANI reported.

At around 10.45 am on Sunday morning, a team of Mandawali police station laid a trap following certain inputs about the presence of a gang who was suspected to dupe people of belongings near Akshardham Metro station Foot over bridge. Proving the inputs right, the assilants reached the spot in their car and opened fire at the police after they were signalled to come out of their vehicle.

The criminals, however, have managed to escape the spot and went towards Geeta colony flyover. The police team drove their car towards Gandhi Nagar but failed to apprehend the criminals. Further investigation is underway to nab the assilants.
