Delhi MCD Polls postponed to April 23, counting on April 26: State Election Commissioner

New Delhi:

Delhi State Election Commissioner S K Srivastava on Wednesday announced that Delhi MCD Polls have been postponed to April 23 due to CBSE board exams. The counting will be done on April 26.

Earlier MCD polls were scheduled to be held on April 22. The counting of the Municipal Corporation Election was to be done on April 25.

The filing of nominations will begin on March 27, the votes will be counted on April 26. EVMs will be used in the upcoming municipal corporation elections.

Cash expenses limit per candidate has been limited to Rs 5 lakh 75 thousand. EC has announced total no of voters in Delhi for Municipal Corporation elections is 1 crore 32 lakh.
