Delhi metro services were badly disrupted on Thursday afternoon following a major power failure. Yellow Line and Blue Line one the most busy life lines of city were hit by curtailed power supply, affecting frequency of trains.

Power disruption severely affects Delhi metro

Delhi metro services were badly disrupted on Thursday afternoon following a major  power failure. Yellow Line and Blue Line one the most busy life lines of city were hit by curtailed power supply, affecting frequency of trains. As power supply was not available from Delhi Transco Ltd due to which the major metro stations at Subhash Nagar, Dwarka, Chhatarpur and Delhi Airport could not feed power to the two lines.

Yellow Line links Huda City Centre in Gurgaon in Haryana with Samaypur Badli in north Delhi. While Blue Line connects Dwarka in west Delhi with Vaishali and Noida City Centre in Uttar Pradesh. Commuters complained of curtailed services and longer than normal stoppage at various stations during the disruption.
