In a massive success, the special cell of the Delhi Police arrested three suspects busting an ISIS terror module on Thursday. Police said that the three suspects were inspired by the ISIS and were planning attack in the Delhi-NCR region. It also claimed that the three were given directions by an unidentified foreign force. According to reports, these three suspects were arrested after an encounter with the Delhi Police.
In November last year, the Delhi Police had nabbed three men, suspected to be inspired by the ISIS, who were planning to carry out attack on a local carnival in Assam's Goalpara district. Last week, a high alert was sounded in Uttar Pradesh that two suspected ISIS terrorists may have entered the state via India-Nepal border area.
Once controlling large swathes of Iraq and Syria, the ISIS has lost the clout in recent years. Last year in November, the National Investigation Agency sleuths had conducted searches in Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli in connection with its probe into the ISIS module case and seized among others, laptops, mobile phones and an axe from the premises of two suspects.
