Delhi witnessed heavy rain along with hailstorm and thunderstorms causing traffic congestion in several parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) on Saturday afternoon. It was a cloudy morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature just being reported a notch above the season’s average at 16.4 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said. Moreover, the humidity level at 8.30 am was recorded at 88 per cent, reports PTI.

The India Meteorological Department said 'it will subside in about two hours.'
Very small ( about 5km*25km*8km dimension) but intense convective cloud is located over central parts of Delhi which is likely to cause moderate rain alongwith moderate thunderstorm & hail activity during next 2 hours. It will subside thereafter.

The weather department said due to westerly trough in mid tropospheric levels and moist easterlies from Bay of Bengal, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand, north Chhattisgarh and Bihar can receive moderate to severe thunderstorm.
