Heavy rains continued to lash parts of the national capital on Tuesday, causing water logging in several areas and harrowing time for commuters in the city, while over 1,400 deaths due to monsoon floods in 10 states were reported by the Union Home Ministry.
As the day remained dark and gloomy with overcast skies, parts of the city recorded 1.2 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 11.30 am while Lodhi Road received 0.5 mm rainfall during the same period, according to the Safdarjung observatory, according to MeT officials.

The Safdarjung observatory recorded 41.6 mm rainfall till 8.30 am. The reports by the Safdarjung observatory is considered official for the city.
Minimum temperature was recorded at 25.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average while humidity remained at 93 per cent. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 31 degrees Celsius, the weatherman said.

Thundershowers are expected to hit the city throughout the day, the MeT official said.
On Monday, the maximum temperature settled at a low of 29.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, over 1,400 people, including 488 in Kerala, have lost their lives due to heavy rains, floods and landslides in 10 states across the country so far this monsoon, the Union Home Ministry informed on Monday.
