Delhi, the national capital of India on Saturday woke up to a cool and pleasant morning. The day is forecast to witness cloudy sky with light rains. Showers of varying intensity are likely to continue till September 24. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 31 degree Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature is predicted to be around 26 degree Celsius and humidity will be around 73 per cent.

Earlier, cyclonic storm ‘DAYE’ hit the Odisha coast near Gopalpur causing heavy rain and Malkangiri district, which bore the brunt, was virtually cut off from the rest of the state. Rain water was flowing over major roads, submerging low-lying areas in the district that experienced a total rainfall of 1163.8 mm since Thursday.
