New Delhi:

Large parts of Delhi and NCR on Saturday remained under very dense fog cover with the visibility dropping drastically impacting road, train, and air traffic and throwing normal life out of gear. At least 20 Delhi-bound trains are running late due to low visibility. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog will be seen in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, and Rajasthan. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 16 degrees Celsius.

List of trains running late - Katihar-Amritsar Express, Puri-New Delhi Purshottam Express, Sealdah-Amritsar Express Akal Takht Express, Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar S Kranti, Gorakhpur-Hisar Goradham Express, Rewa Anand Vihar Rewa Express, Allahabad-new Delhi Prayagraj Express, Azamgarh-Delhi Kajfiyat Express, Howrah-New Delhi Poorwa Express, Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Rajdhani, Manduadih-New Delhi Shivganga Express, Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Vikramshilla, Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Sampoornakranti, Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Ranchi-new Delhi Garibrath Express, Islampur-New Delhi Magadh Express, Sealdah-Amritsar Express J Bagh, Raxaul-Anand Vihar Sadbhawna Express, Varanasi-new Delhi Kashi Vishwanath.

The fog is expected to disperse later in the day and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius, said the official.

By 9 am, the air quality index of Delhi was recorded at 240 which was in the ‘poor’ category, as per data of Central Pollution Control Board. On Friday, the minimum temperature was 11.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum 17.7 degrees Celsius.

Earlier on Friday, Delhiites woke up to a foggy morning after overnight rains with the minimum temperature settling at 11.3 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average. Humidity was recorded at 100 per cent. The Safdarjung observatory recorded 16.8 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am.

The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy skies with the possibility of very light rain or thundershower. The maximum temperature on Friday is likely to settle around 17 degrees Celsius while minimum on Saturday is likely to settle around nine degrees Celsius.

The air quality index was recorded at 283, which falls in the 'poor' category. An AQI between 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe'.
