Delhi Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that all the departments of his government are fully prepared for the odd-even and official notification regarding the car rationing scheme has been issued. Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Kejriwal said that he has directed the cab operators like Ola and Uber not to surge prices during the Odd-Even scheme and asked auto drivers to strictly operate on meters.
"A notification on Odd-Even has been issued today. I have taken a review meeting and all the departments of the Delhi government are prepared for the Odd-Even. We have also directed cab operators not to surge prices during the Odd-Even scheme," Kejriwal said.
Starting November 4, the Odd-Even is Kejriwal government’s flagship scheme to combat the high-level of air pollution in Delhi. During the scheduled 12-day scheme, vehicles will ply alternately on odd and even dates as per their registration numbers. The air quality in Delhi has worsened over the last few days and is likely to deteriorate further mainly due to the stubble burning in the neighbouring states Haryana and Punjab.
