Ethiopian Belihu wins Airtel Delhi Half Marathon men's race

Ethiopian teenager Andamalak Belihu came back stronger and raced ahead of competitor Amdework Walelegn in the men's elite field to win his maiden Airtel Delhi Half Marathon on Sunday.

Belihu won second place in 2017 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Improving in his personal timing, the 19-year-old Belihu clocked 59:18 seconds in the race course.

Walelegn followed Belihu and ended the race with a time of 59:22 seconds, clinching silver.

Kenya's Daniel Kipchumba took the third spot clocking 59:48 seconds.

The winning course record of 59.06 sec was set by winner Ethiopia's Guye Adola in 2014.

Abhishek Pal was the best-placed among Indian racers, clocking 1:04:14 seconds. Avinash Sable won silver with a timing of 1:04:14, while Gopi T claimed the third spot on the podium with 1:04:15s.
